QLD Schoolgirls Rugby 7s State Champions! | Our Year 10s Nikeisha Ngaru & Tekainga Enkera-Raveora

QLD Schoolgirls Rugby 7s State Champions! | Our Year 10s Nikeisha Ngaru & Tekainga Enkera-Raveora

A massive congratulations to our very own Year 10 students Nikeisha Ngaru and Tekainga Enkera-Raveora, who represented South Coast District in the inaugural stand-alone Queensland Schoolgirls Rugby 7s State Championships.

This tournament was held across last weekend from Friday 19 - Sunday 21 May up in Hervey Bay's Sports Precinct, and our two talented girls were crowned among the State Champions across both age groups.

It was a full-on long weekend where the girls played eight games over three days.

Both girls were right up there in the top point scorers tally list for the tournament, scoring in every game.

South Coast won seven games and only drew one game in a powerhouse performance.

It was a very physical Grand Final against Met East on the Sunday afternoon, but South Coast fought hard for the win and won by a try.

Further honours goes to both girls who were also selected in the Schoolgirls Rugby 7s Queensland Team!

They will travel to Sydney in July to compete at the National Schoolgirls Rugby 7s Championships.

Good luck Nikeisha and Tekainga!

Australian Youth Rugby 7s Training Camp: All The Best To Year 10 Student Nikeisha Ngaru

Australian Youth Rugby 7s Training Camp: All The Best To Year 10 Student Nikeisha Ngaru

Congratulations to our Year 10 student Nikeisha Ngaru who got the call up yesterday to attend her first Australian Youth Rugby 7s Training Camp.

She is now down in New South Wales training for the next three days.

Unfortunately, Nikeisha is too young to be considered for the Youth Commonwealth Games in August, as athletes have to be turning 17/18 years-old to compete.

However, Nikeisha is eligible for the Australian Youth and Australian School Teams.

These two teams will compete at the World Schools Rugby Festival in December over in Thailand.

This is an awesome opportunity for Nikeisha to further develop her skills and get amongst the next generation of Rugby 7s talent, while experiencing an elite training camp.
