At Canterbury we recognise and reward achievement and celebrate success.

Every year we accept applications for scholarships from exceptional students.

No further scholarships are available for 2021. The following scholarships are now available for entry into 2022 and 2023.

Academic Scholarships

Canterbury holds two Academic Scholarship exams each year.

Our next Academic Scholarship exam will be held on Saturday 29 May and is for new students entering Years 5 – 10 in 2022.

Mathematics Scholarships 2022 and 2023

Canterbury holds two Mathematics Scholarship exams each year.

Sport Scholarships 2022

Canterbury students have the opportunity to compete locally in The Associated Schools (TAS) sporting competition, as well as other competitions and at a representative level.

Sport Scholarships are available for students entering Years 7 – 11 in 2022.

Round 2 Sports Scholarships applications OPEN NOW – Closing Tuesday 15 June 2021.

Further rounds may be offered later this year, depending on scholarship availability after Round 2, however we recommend you submit your application early.

Performing Arts Scholarships 2022

Instrumental Music, Choral and Dance Scholarships are available to students entering Years 7 – 11 in 2022.

Younger students are also invited to apply for Instrumental Music Scholarships if they have successfully attained an AMEB Level 4.

Scholarship Application Form

A limited number of Leadership and Community Excellence scholarships will be awarded each year, to new students commencing in Year 7 at Canterbury.

The criteria that the College will consider in offering these scholarships are as follows:

  1. The holding of a senior leadership position in Primary School (eg School Captain, Vice-Captain, Sports Captain, Arts Captain, SRC President etc);
  2. An ongoing contribution to community service, volunteering or participation in public awareness campaigns;
  3. The recognition of servant leadership qualities by teachers and school leaders (as cited in letters of recommendation or similar).

Evidence required to support scholarship applications in this category may include letters of appointment, certificates of achievement or recognition and letters of recommendation by school leaders or teachers.

Application under this category does not preclude a student from also applying under other scholarship categories.
