Cocurricular Theatre at Canterbury allows students to further explore dramatic forms and styles through a range of drama groups. Students use and develop their creativity, thinking skills and technical understandings about drama to imagine and explore behaviour, relationships, emotions and beliefs in different situations and contexts.

The Performance Drama Program encourages students to participate in a range of styles and engenders a love of theatre, group interaction and participation. It caters to students of all abilities and builds an appreciation of a diverse range of theatre genres. Ensembles are open to both auditioned and non-auditioned places.  Students who would like to extend their work in acting can audition for a lead role in a production.

Drama ensemble is open to all students from Year 7 – 12 who are interested in the Theatre and acting.  The ensemble works on stage presence, focus, acting skills and learning the element of Drama.  They preform at eisteddfods, school events and community venues such as Street Theatre at Southbank Parklands.

Theatre Company are auditioned roles that draw from members of Drama Ensemble. The Theatre Company extends gifted and talented actors beyond their Studio Tuition practice through opportunities to work closely with guest artists performing work directed by industry professionals in cutting edge styles.
