Welcome to the Canterbury Early Learning Centre

We offer our families a supportive and stimulating Early Learning education with highly qualified teachers in vibrant, well-resourced classrooms and engaging outdoor spaces.

Children at the Canterbury Early Learning Centre are encouraged to question, discover, problem solve and create as they explore their world while developing a sense of belonging.

Our Pre-Kindy and Kindy rooms all include long day care (6:45am-6:00pm) as part of our all-inclusive daily rates.

Our Early Learning Centre students participate in many exciting events and activities throughout the year, some just of their own, some in conjunction with the Canterbury Junior School. These include the Life Education Van, Under 8s Day, Grandparents’ Day, Easter Bonnet Parade, Multicultural Day, Book Week and Mother’s and Father’s Day picnics.

Partnerships between the College and parents are highly valued at Canterbury and there are many opportunities for parents to participate in their children’s learning, in the classroom or at events.

Engine Room

The Canterbury College Engine Room is a unique, amazing space where children can improve their energy levels, concentration, fine and gross motor skills – all while having fun.

With activities ranging from balancing, using a trapeze, the “big squishy cushion”, a ball pit, bear walking, leopard crawling and more, for the students it is half an hour of fun in their day that they excitedly look forward to.

The Engine Room is based on extensive research which shows these activities “get your engine running”, keeping students’ energy levels at the optimum level, ready for learning.

Our Early Learning Centre is typically oversubscribed, with long waiting lists and as such, we recommend enrolling early so you do not miss out.

We invite you to visit the Early Learning Centre soon and take a tour with our College Registrar, Mrs Debbie Milne.
