Junior School Book Fair + Author Visit

Junior School Book Fair ON NOW + Author Visit

Dear Parents & Carers,

The #ScholasticBookFair is back and it’s ON NOW at the Canterbury Discovery Centre Junior Library, where our young students have been enjoying the new offerings already.

There is a book for every sort of reader and who can resist the wide variety of stationery also on offer.

Book Fair concludes THIS Monday 14 June and primary students can create a wishlist based on all the great titles available to purchase these books.

The Discovery Centre Junior Library will be open beyond normal school hours from 7:30am - 8:15am and from 3:15pm - 4:30pm during Book Fair school days, for wishlist orders, book collections and processing payments via cash or EFTPOS.

Stationery can be purchased at the main lunch break from 1:30pm – 2:15pm.

Each Book Fair is designed to give children access to more books they want to read, from relevant new-releases to classic award-winners.

Thursday Author Visit

At the Discovery Centre this morning, we also had a special visit from Elijah and his friend Crumpet.

Their adventures have been captured in an amazing story called Motivate Man.

Elijah was able to meet with his young fans and sign some of his books in the library.

With books selling fast, we were lucky enough to get one for the Junior School collection and it will be available for borrowing soon.

Canterbury would like to thank #ElijahAndCrumpet for introducing us to #MotivateMan.

Yours in reading,

Anita Pendreigh
Teacher Librarian

BIG Thank You Bunnings Loganholme!

The Canterbury College Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden and our Years 3 and 4 students have been the very fortunate recipients of an abundance of brand new gardening tools - including rakes, trowels, shovels, forks - and even some sugar cane mulch.

So we would like to say a HUGE thank you to Bunnings Loganholme for their very generous donation to our school's very own Kitchen Garden!

Mrs Sinclair and the Years 3 and 4 students cannot wait to use their new tools when we get our hands dirty at the very special 'I Beg Your Garden' Canterbury Kitchen Garden Capers: An Afternoon Adventure In Our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden happening soon on Tuesday afternoon 15 June 2021.

We hope to see you there!
