ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT STORY BELOW (29/06/22):
The Musica Viva Australia Strike A Chord National Music Championship Finalists have been announced!
This is the largest competition of its kind and is now in its third year.
The 2022 Championship saw a record number of 119 secondary school ensembles (representing 445 students) from all over Australia, vying for a total prize pool worth over $40,000, comprising of cash and professional development prizes, as well as interstate performance engagements.
Groups submitted a video recording of their performance, from which 12 Finalists were selected nationally.
Among the 12 Finalists chosen to proceed to perform LIVE at the Strike A Chord Grand Final in Melbourne this August, are TWO groups featuring Canterbury College students:
The IncrediBows: A collaborative string quartet between Canterbury students Haydn and George Li, and their childhood friends.
AND
Canterbury’s very own Trio Bellissimo: Starring the incredibly talented Isabella Oxenbridge, and again brothers Haydn Li and George Li.
It’s a remarkable feat that both groups are coached by Canterbury’s Coordinator of Piano and Chamber Music - Mr Tim Li, and they are two of only three groups representing all of Queensland in the Australian Grand Finals.
Mr Li also coached the Amogus Trio who WON this competition last year, so let’s go for two years in a row…
Tickets for the Grand Final in Melbourne on Saturday 27 August are on sale now.
You can also tune in via their FREE livestream.
Ticket sales and livestream registrations can be made through Musica Viva Australia by clicking HERE.

Cranmer House: Cancer Council Daffodil Day - Awareness Campaign THIS Thursday!
Cranmer House: Cancer Council Daffodil Day - Awareness Campaign THIS Thursday!
When: National Daffodil Day - THIS Thursday 25 August 2022.
Where: Cranmer House Area.
Who: For Secondary School students.
Cranmer House is raising awareness around Cancer Council Australia’s National Daffodil Day.
Their students have folded origami daffodil flowers in our six house colours to give out to fellow students this Thursday.
They will also be hosting a house BBQ in the Cranmer area, so that Cranmer Wolves can 'bring along a friend' to help the Wolf Pack raise awareness for this great cause!
If you would like to donate directly to the Daffodil Day Appeal, to support advancements in life-saving cancer research, you can do so at this Official Cranmer Wolves Cancer Council Weblink HERE.
ABOUT
The Daffodil Day Appeal is the Cancer Council’s most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign.
It’s a chance for Australians to come together and give, to create change in the lives of people impacted by cancer, by funding cancer research.
In 2021, the Daffodil Day Appeal raised almost $1.5 million for life-saving cancer research, but looked a little different.
Despite the global pandemic, Australians still dug deep and donated online to show their commitment to a 'cancer free' future.
This year, we’re asking for your essential support once more...
Sadly, with nearly 150,000 Australians diagnosed with cancer every year, most people have been touched by this heartbreaking disease.
That’s why we’re encouraging you to give hope by donating to the cause.
Daffodil Day falls on Thursday 25 August in 2022, but you can get involved any time throughout the month.

This Logan Business Distinction Awards is the third combined Logan Chamber of Commerce event, and with 495 nominations and nearly 100 individual applications, this will be a night to remember.
With so many applications to go through, the judges worked hard to create their list of finalists.
The judging was hard with many amazing applications sent in, and every application will receive a certificate of recognition on the night.
The business awards was originally started by the Logan Chamber of Commerce over 35 years ago, and has a tradition of being a ‘night of nights’ on the Logan business and social calendar.
This year, there were 17 separate industry categories for businesses to nominate for, and five special major awards – New or Emerging Business, Sustainability, Innovation, Community Contribution, Inclusiveness and Business of the Year.
