Term 3 Interschool Chess Competition | Report & Photos

We are excited to bring you a report on the recent Term 3 Interschool Chess Competition.

This event saw our talented chess enthusiasts engage in fierce battles of intellect, strategy and sportsmanship against some of the best young minds across the Gold Coast region.

The competition took place at The Southport School, where the atmosphere was charged with excitement and anticipation.

The venue provided the perfect setting for the students to showcase their chess prowess.

Our top players (CC Blue) had a chance to compete in the Premier Division, a first for our college, which provided our students with a valuable learning experience.

They could test their skills against opponents, adapting their strategies and learning from each match.

Many of our students secured victories in their matches, displaying their dedication to honing their chess skills.

Noteworthy performers included Jordan Tan, who placed 2nd in his division, winning six of his seven games.

Matt Barnes and Jordan Bolger received merit badges for winning 4.5 of their seven games.

The Canterbury D Team placed third in their division, and each member received bronze medals.

I want to express my appreciation and gratitude to the students who attended this tournament.

Their behaviour and attitude were of a high standard, and they represented our college with pride.
