New School Fee Payments: Direct Debit Platform Via Parent Lounge | Launches 2024

New School Fee Payments: Direct Debit Platform Via Parent Lounge | Launches 2024

Dear Parents and Carers,

At Canterbury we are always looking at ways to improve the services we provide to our community and our operational efficiency.

So we are pleased to introduce a new and better solution for paying school fees by direct debit starting in 2024.

We have implemented a secure, paperless direct debit system within the TASS Parent Lounge, which will manage all direct debit payments for families opting to use the 2 or 5 instalment options for each semester’s fees.

This new system provides a secure payment platform, allows families to manage and track their school payments from within the TASS Parent Lounge, and is a more cost-effective solution.

From 2024, all Canterbury families will have access to the 2 x payment instalments option via the Parent Lounge, after they have received their 2024 fee statement.

Families wanting the 5 x payment instalments option, will need to complete this ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.

System Advantages

  • Flexibility – Parents can choose to pay via credit or debit card, bank account, or both.
  • Please Note: Bank account or debit card deductions will not incur any additional charges.
  • Convenience – Families can tailor a payment arrangement to suit their needs, as payments can now be made in 2 or 5 instalments each semester.
  • Security – There is no need for families to share credit card details and this payment platform is 100% PCI DSS compliant.
  • Clarity – Automated email advice keeps families aware of upcoming payment dates and amounts.

A preview of what this new direct debit platform will look like in 2024, including a step-by-step walk through, can be found by clicking this LINK HERE.

Canterbury recognises that these payment options may still not suit the budgets and income cycles of all families.

So Canterbury parents, or existing Edstart Plus users, who believe these fee payment arrangements will be incompatible with their family budget, should contact our Family Liaison Officer, Mrs Lisa Foster – T: 07 3299 0807 | E:

Yours sincerely,

Mr Johan Louw

Director of Business and Finance
Canterbury College

Adam Thompson: Managing Director of Stenhouse Lifting Equipment – the leading supplier, manufacturer and inspector for a wide range of auxiliary, lifting and height safety equipment.

For over 20 years, Adam has worked alongside Australia’s biggest and most trusted brands in the mining, construction, engineering and urban utility sectors, keeping their people safe, their assets compliant, and their sites operational.

Having a passion for business and a strong desire to give back, he’s also the Growth Director on the Regional Board for the Entrepreneurs’ Organisation (EO), where he helps set the direction for our regional areas.

EO is a global not-for-profit organisation helping entrepreneurs achieve their full potential through life-enhancing connections, shared experiences and collaborative learning.

Belinda Vesey-Brown: Belinda has always been fascinated by the power of digital communication and its potential to connect people in new and exciting ways.

However, she noticed that most video content is not accessible to those with hearing loss, low vision, or with learning or language challenges.

That's why Belinda started TaggedPDF, a business that made PDFs accessible for people with low vision.

But as the fastest-growing format of digital communication, video posed a greater challenge.

That's why she created a new service offering called ‘MeetAandi’, a cutting-edge online tool that uses AI and machine learning to make it easy to add captions, transcripts and audio descriptions to any video.

In consultation with many Australian universities, they now have a feature-packed software tool that can assist with learning, and the goal now is to remediate 1 million minutes of video with captions and audio descriptions.

Adam and Belinda have volunteered their time to provide feedback to our students, and share their personal challenges and successes – with our big thanks!
