Year 8 BEE: Business, Economics & Entrepreneurship Christmas Gifts Pop-Up Market Stall | Event Wrap & Photo Gallery

Our Year 8 BEE: Business, Economics & Entrepreneurship students organised a Christmas-themed pop-up market stall outside the School Canteen, as part of their Entrepreneurial Design assessment task.

They have been working extremely hard to develop their businesses and create products to sell to the Canterbury Secondary community and staff.

Our students set up several points of sale, selling a range of homemade baked goods, yuletide mugs, gift packs, jewellery, accessories and many more items!

It was a great way to get in some early Christmas shopping, while supporting this entrepreneurial venture by our Year 8 BEE students, across two days of recess breaks.

2023 Canterbury Annual Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer High Tea Fundraiser | Event Wrap + Photo Gallery + Highlights Video OUT NOW!

Our 2023 Canterbury Annual Pink Ribbon Breast Cancer High Tea Fundraiser was a lovely way to raise awareness and financial support for The Cancer Council's 'Do It For Cancer' Pink Ribbon Fundraiser.

Donations were contributed, raffles were drawn, and a powerful and touching story was delivered by our very own Jen Hudson - from the Business & Finance team, about her fight with breast cancer.

Donations can be given to this extremely worthwhile organisation and medical cause HERE.

The FULL photo gallery and highlights video from this morning's 'feel good' event can be found on our Facebook Page HERE.

And very special thanks to our Years 10 & 11 Hospitality students who handled all the catering for this event under the expert guidance of the wonderful Mrs Holly Westphal and Mrs Michelle Rowbotham.

It was fantastic to see Mrs Catherine Krzensk in attendance!

Year 4 Carrot Cake Production Event Wrap + Video + Photo Gallery + CAKE RECIPE!

Year 4 Carrot Cake Production Event Wrap + Video + Photo Gallery + CAKE RECIPE!

Last term, our ELC - Year 4 students harvested over 8,000 carrots from our Canterbury Kitchen Garden and Early Learning Centre Garden.

Today some of those carrots were used to make carrot cakes - with our recipe attached!

Working in groups of 2-4, our Year 4 classes followed the recipe, and each class made 16 delicious carrot cakes.‍‍

After 40 minutes in the oven, the cakes were ready and our young students enjoyed the fruits of their labour.

Our students even shared their carrot cakes with a Year 2 class and got to take any leftovers home!

Check out this short video from the baking session.

More photos from the event can be found on our Facebook Page here.
