Canterbury Kitchen Garden Delight: Bok Choy Stir Fry Making
Today, some of our Year 4 students showcased their culinary skills by preparing a Bok Choy Stir Fry during their Kitchen Garden class.
Guided by our ‘Professor Chef’, Mr Colin Mason, they expertly chopped capsicum, corn, ginger, spring onions and bok choy, which Mr Mason skilfully combined into mouthwatering dishes.
Our Canterbury Kitchen Garden Program aims to provide enjoyable food education, emphasising the rich flavours and health benefits of fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Through this program, students also explore significant topics such as food systems, native foods and cultures, food security and food sustainability.

On Tuesday, our Years 11-12 girls participated in the 'Beyond The Mascara: Healthy Authentic Femininity' workshop, facilitated by the Peer Power wellbeing organisation.
This genuinely engaging and interactive session was designed to empower our female students, and give them the opportunity to really reflect upon and embrace healthy perspectives of femininity in today's society.
The program focused on fostering confidence, compassion and personal capacity, while advocating for true self-worth, without the pressure of modern media imagery and constant comparison.
Our students actively participated, sharing their own personal insights and enjoying the well-structured activities.
Reflecting On The Future Of Education Summit 2024: A Transformative Experience
Reflecting On The Future Of Education Summit 2024: A Transformative Experience
For the second consecutive year, Canterbury College proudly hosted The Future Of Education Summit in partnership with BOP Industries.
This year’s summit saw an impressive gathering of 205 educators over a two-day event.
We were honoured to welcome educational leaders and industry experts from diverse locations, including New Delhi, Perth, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Townsville, Gladstone, Bundaberg, and, of course, Brisbane.
The Summit ’24 was a phenomenal experience for our Canterbury College staff, providing an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experts across various sectors.
The highlights of Summit ’24 were numerous, but a few stand out in particular.
We cherished the forward-thinking discussions about the future of education, the bold challenges to the status quo within our schools, and, most importantly, the emphasis on listening to and amplifying the voices of our students.
As we reflect on the insights and connections gained from this summit, we are inspired and motivated to continue pushing the boundaries of education to better serve our students and communities.
We look forward to carrying the momentum from Summit ’24 into our daily practices and future initiatives.

Dear Junior School Parents and Carers,
One of my goals when I started here, was to increase opportunities for parents and carers to engage with our students, with each other, and with the leaders of Canterbury College.
This term, we will be launching a variety of platforms where members of our community can come together to build a strong and supportive network.
Please watch our video outlining these new opportunities, and how you can become involved.
I'm quite excited about these upcoming events, and I look forward to seeing you around the College.
Warm regards,
Karen Roman

100 Days Of Prep Celebration | Event Wrap & Photo Gallery
Today our Prep students celebrated reaching 100 days of learning here at Canterbury College.
So our little ‘Preppies’ dressed up as '100-year-olds' or imagined their future selves, while enjoying a day filled with fun activities.
They also took the lead for Junior School Assembly, showcasing their counting up to 100 for their gathered parents and carers in the crowd, with some very cute performances.
Congratulations on this milestone to our wonderful Prep students.
We look forward to seeing your continued growth and learning for the next 100 days.
A special heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all the parents and carers for your huge support in making this event a success, by helping create these ‘oldies’ costumes behind the scenes.
Additionally, we held our Gotcha Prize Draw after the Prep performance.
Well done to all our Gotcha Prize winners!
The Gotcha Prize is awarded to students who embody our school values – from showing effort and trying their hardest in class, to demonstrating integrity by being honest and engaging in difficult conversations.
Whenever one of our Junior School students performs a good deed, they earn themselves a Gotcha ticket which goes into the Assembly Prize Draw.

UN Day Video Production | Film, TV & New Media Student Workshops
https://youtu.be/slrPEXs4K-0
Our Years 8-12 Film, TV & New Media students came together for an exciting Canterbury United Nations Day video production.
Across three workshops held during Terms 2 and 3 – the Pre-Production Workshop, the Production Day itself, and the Post-Production Workshop, our Creative Industries students immersed themselves in every aspect of filmmaking.
During Pre-Production, students familiarised themselves with the cameras, mastering all the settings, and honing their interviewing skills.
On our United Nations Day, our students transformed into a dynamic film crew, capturing compelling footage and student interviews throughout the event.
In Week 2 of Term 3, students collaborated to edit together all their footage in the Post-Production phase, bringing their creative visions to life.
These workshops provided invaluable real-world experience and advice, thanks to the professional support of Essential Screen Skills Qld.
They are the Gateway To Industry Schools Program body that Canterbury has officially partnered with since 2021, and Mr Stewart Tyrell was here on campus representing them.
Thanks to Mr Tyrell on his guidance and for sharing his in-depth expertise, and it was great to observe our students’ organic enthusiasm during this entire three-stage project.
We look forward to seeing their future on-screen creations.
