More Information
Our Canterbury College Young Business Leaders wish to invite you to an exciting upcoming community event and would appreciate your support!
The Beenleigh Chamber Beats is a FREE event that provides an opportunity for our students to begin publicly showcasing their start-up businesses, that they’ve been working hard on developing, as part of our BOP Program for student entrepreneurs.
Students are aiming to gauge market interest and demand, gather data through business surveys, showcase prototypes, and ask questions to our community members, to make relevant tweaks and improvements to their businesses and products.
There will also be an abundance of local talented secondary student performances across vocal, instrumental, dance and drama; plus plenty of food and drink stalls, and other entertainment on offer.
We encourage you all to come along and show your support in person on Saturday 3 June…
See you there!

***COLLEGE PARENTS & CARERS IMPORTANT REQUEST***
We kindly request parents, carers and relatives to support this event by cooking and providing bulk quantities of their traditional cultural dishes to sell at this event.
We have around 950 Years 5-12 students enrolled on campus, plus their 90-100 teachers and admin staff, plus visiting parents, carers and relatives.
Now we are obviously NOT asking people to cook 1,050 meals (!!) but this is the total potential guest number to be fed between all the various cuisines.
So let's say 10-12 different cuisines x 100 meals each OR 10-12 different cuisines x 2 traditional dishes x 40-50 of each dish... something manageable like that...
Obviously the more parents and cuisines and dishes - the less cooking quantities for everybody!
And please keep your recipe ingredients grocery shopping receipts for full reimbursement by the College.
ALL FOOD + DRINK COLLEGE DROP-OFFS: Event Day ONLY | One Location ONLY – CEC: Canterbury Events Centre | Between 7:00am – 11:00am.
COMPULSORY FOOD & DRINK SUPPLIERS FORM PLEASE: United Nations Day Festival: Your Food & Beverages Basic Information.
***IMPORTANT FOOD & DRINK SUPPLIERS INFO GUIDE SHOWN BELOW***
Adults who can help with on-site food preparation and counter service during this major event would also be greatly appreciated!
Our objective is to give as many people a taste of as many different cuisines as possible...
Please direct any further food related questions to our Major Events Food Services Manager: Mr Colin Mason –
Please direct any general event questions to our Director Of Student Development: Mr Chris Nield –

QLD Schoolgirls Rugby 7s State Champions! | Our Year 10s Nikeisha Ngaru & Tekainga Enkera-Raveora
A massive congratulations to our very own Year 10 students Nikeisha Ngaru and Tekainga Enkera-Raveora, who represented South Coast District in the inaugural stand-alone Queensland Schoolgirls Rugby 7s State Championships.
This tournament was held across last weekend from Friday 19 - Sunday 21 May up in Hervey Bay's Sports Precinct, and our two talented girls were crowned among the State Champions across both age groups.
It was a full-on long weekend where the girls played eight games over three days.
Both girls were right up there in the top point scorers tally list for the tournament, scoring in every game.
South Coast won seven games and only drew one game in a powerhouse performance.
It was a very physical Grand Final against Met East on the Sunday afternoon, but South Coast fought hard for the win and won by a try.
Further honours goes to both girls who were also selected in the Schoolgirls Rugby 7s Queensland Team!
They will travel to Sydney in July to compete at the National Schoolgirls Rugby 7s Championships.
Good luck Nikeisha and Tekainga!

2023 Canterbury Spanish Language Festival | Photo Gallery!
Hola Canterbury Community!
Today was a fiesta of excitement for our Prep – Year 6 students, as they immersed themselves in our Spanish Language Festival.
This celebration of Mexican and Central American culture, allowed our students to participate in diverse activities, based on cultural arts and crafts, music, dancing and food.
A huge 'gracias' to our Secondary School Spanish language students who supported our endeavours to bring this brand-new event to fruition.
And to our fantastic performers Duo Serenata, who wowed the crowd with songs like Despacito and the Macarena, and perhaps inspired Canterbury's longest ever Conga line.
The entire photo gallery from this event can be found on our Facebook Page HERE.
Check out this collaborative art piece by our Junior School students of the Quetzalcoatl, a Mesoamerican deity in Aztec culture - derived from the Nahuatl language and means 'Precious Serpent'.
