Year 8 Mandarin Dumpling Making Incursion | Event Wrap, Photos & Video
On Monday morning, our Year 8 Mandarin students took part in a cultural incursion where they learned how to make dumplings.
This term, the students have been studying a unit on Leisure Time, acquiring the language skills necessary to discuss their own leisure activities while learning about the activities that Chinese people enjoy in their spare time.
In China, dumpling making is a cherished social activity symbolising unity and prosperity, often bringing families together during special occasions and in their free time.
This incursion provided students with the hands-on experience of making their own dumplings, enhancing their understanding and appreciation of Chinese culture.
