Canterbury Rock School | Award-Winning Composer Marty Hailey Visit: Photos & Event Wrap
Award-winning composer Mr Marty Hailey, visited our Canterbury Rock School last Friday afternoon, giving our students the opportunity to work with someone who has operated at a very high level in the international music industry for over 20 years.
Marty discussed his wide range of experiences as a performer, music producer and composer – working all over the world including – West End, Broadway and Las Vegas.
Students posed lots of questions as Marty discussed the roles each player has in a band, how developing technology is shaping the future of the music industry, and pathways into building long-lasting careers in music.
He even played a few songs on guitar, with the support of our very own Junior School Teacher Mr Jonathan Wheatley on drum kit, as they reminisced about their younger days playing in the same band!
Marty then went around to listen to each of our Rock School bands, giving them advice and tips for their upcoming performances.
It was an extremely valuable experience for all who were involved.
