Bastille Day French Language Activities | Lunchtime Event Wrap & Photos

Today during lunchtime, our Year 9 French Global Studies students hosted Bastille Day activities for the Senior School campus.

Students enjoyed a competitive trivia challenge on French history and heritage, and many celebrated by wearing classic costumes at the photo booth.

Bastille Day actually commemorates the fall of the Bastille State Prison in Paris during the tumultuous French Revolution of July 1789, symbolising the fight for liberty, equality and fraternity (or brotherhood).

Today’s event provided students with a deeper understanding of these important values, and the significance of this people’s revolution against the aristocracy in global history.

Vive la France!
