Student Parliament in Action: A Push for Wellbeing
Student Parliament in Action: A Push for Wellbeing
The Push-Up Challenge was brought to our school by Year 11 student Aoibhe Kerrigan, who proposed the idea to Student Parliament and gained full support from her peers.
She and Cooper McIntyre then trained as 2025 Push-Up Challenge Ambassadors, leading wellbeing workshops with the Year 11 cohort.
Aoibhe and Cooper, along with Kiya Watkins-Rameka, Lucas Noy, Harrison Cato, Cooper Carey, and Destinee Pickvance-Yee, ran an informative session to raise awareness about mental health and the purpose behind the Push-Up Challenge.
They wrapped up with fun, high-energy House competitions and games.
A highlight was the full support from the Year 11 cohort in running a Junior School session - with a fantastic response.
Our older students joined in push-ups and dance games with the youngest students, showing leadership, joy, and energy across campus.
Congratulations Aoibhe and Cooper, and well done to all involved!

Canterbury Takes On The Kokoda Challenge
Canterbury Takes On The Kokoda Challenge
Three dedicated teams of Year 12 students are stepping up for this year’s Kokoda Challenge on Saturday 19 to Sunday 20 July — Australia’s toughest team endurance event that honours the spirit of the soldiers who fought on the Kokoda Track in 1942.
These students will hike through rivers, scale steep hills and push past exhaustion - all in the name of teamwork, resilience, and raising funds for the Kokoda Youth Foundation, which supports local youth through life-changing programs.
Each team needs to raise a minimum of $350 by Saturday 12 July, and every dollar counts!
If you’d like to support them, donations can be made through their supervising teachers:
Team Navy - Mr Andrew Porter | Team Red - Ms Kathy Simpson | Team White - Mr Michael Bowden
Team Navy - $297 left | Team Red - All Set! | Team White - $54 left
Let’s get behind our Kokoda teams, Canterbury!
Year 11 Students Attend Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo
Year 11 Students Attend Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo
Today, Year 11 students attended the Brisbane Careers & Employment Expo – Queensland’s largest event of its kind.
With over 160 organisations and employers present, it was a valuable experience.
Students connected with tertiary providers, industry professionals, and career advisors, gaining insights into a wide range of career pathways.
They explored job opportunities, received expert guidance, took part in hands-on activities, and learned about careers with the Australian Defence Force and other industries.
The event was both informative and inspiring, helping students clarify their interests and start planning their post-school paths with confidence.
Events like this are a key part of our commitment to helping students make informed decisions about their futures.

Eight teams. Hundreds of cheers. One goal… to win The Great Race!
Yesterday, our annual Cursus Magnus saw select Years 5–12 students, staff, and alumni blaze around the track - all chasing glory, with House teams eager to claim Canterbury Cup points.
Last year, the alumni team took the overall win - but this year?
Ramsey House took the lead!
That’s four straight victories among the Houses for the Raptors, cementing their relay dynasty.

2025 Year 12s QLD vs NSW State Of Origin Night Party – Game One | Wrap-Up
2025 Year 12s QLD vs NSW State Of Origin Night Party – Game One | Wrap-Up
Last night may not have gone QLD's way on the scoreboard (NSW 18 – QLD 6), but our Year 12s still scored a win in the fun department!
From free pizza and soft drinks to plenty of laughs and loud cheers (and maybe a few dramatic boos), the big screen Origin Party brought the spirit, the energy, and a whole lot of team pride.
Whether you were mocking a Maroon or booing a Blue, thanks for making it a night to remember.
Huge shoutout to our Senior School Staff legends – Mr Gillin, Mr Paul, Mrs Baiada, Ms Johnston and Fr Dan – for hosting an epic night.
