Canterbury Taipans Swimming Club - First Club Night BBQ for 2023

Canterbury Taipans Swimming Club - First Club Night BBQ for 2023

Our Canterbury Taipans Swimming Club Members enjoyed the water, both in and out of our campus pool this evening, for their first Club Night BBQ for 2023.

A little bit of rain had no chance of dampening the spirits of our ‘aquatic amigos’, as they bond together ahead of a big year of interclub swimming meets, alongside their school-based and TAS and Junior TAS swimming championships.

If you would like to join our Canterbury Taipans Swimming Club, please get in touch, as we would love to have you onboard - T: 07 3299 0900 | E:

2023 International Women's Day: 'Women Supporting Women' Student Workshop

2023 International Women's Day: 'Women Supporting Women' Student Workshop

https://youtu.be/QcmZtkcj0LU

As part of Canterbury's International Women's Day celebrations, our Years 11 and 12 female Prefects and Captains attended the Women Supporting Women workshop run by Jen Buchanan from Future Anything.

They discussed the features of a good leader, and how to avoid becoming a bad leader, and identified the important qualities and values around what it means to be a Canterbury leader and more.

Here are the outcome 'pledges' from our Years 11 and 12 leaders:

Our Year 11 Leaders: At Canterbury, we will try our best and strive towards inclusivity, while still remaining humble.

As leaders, we will honestly communicate with our peers to enable perspectives to be heard and equitable change to happen.

Our Year 12 Prefects: We aim to be passionate leaders that strive to achieve inclusivity through humility and honest communication.

For more information on the Future Anything organisation, please visit their website HERE.

More workshop photos can be found on our Facebook page HERE and please enjoy the video.

Yalburru Community Cafe Update | Welcome Year 9s From Monday + BRING YOUR STUDENT ID!

Yalburru Community Cafe Update | Welcome Year 9s From Monday + BRING YOUR STUDENT ID!

Dear Students,

Seeing so many of you accessing our campus cafe to meet with friends to talk and study has been great.

As of Monday, we want more students to enjoy this cafe experience, so we invite our Year 9s to use the Yalburru Community Cafe.

In return, ALL students in Years 9-12 must ensure they have their ID cards on them to show cafe staff, to purchase food and beverages from Monday morning.

Please do not question or appeal to cafe staff - they will not serve you if you do not have this ID with you.

If you have lost your ID card, please get a new one from our IT Services.

The price for a replacement ID card is $5.00.

And good luck to all our Taipans Teams this TAS weekend, as we get close to Finals Round.

Mrs Adamson
Head of Secondary School

Mindfulness With Our Year 9 Cranmer House Wolves

Mindfulness With Our Year 9 Cranmer House Wolves

Our Year 9 🐺 Wolves in Cranmer House have been investigating how mindfulness plays a role in success in our day-to-day lives.
They have investigated various mindfulness activities, including meditation, colouring and outdoor fun.

The Year 9 Wolves created PowerPoint presentations and presented them to their respective Form classes.

Yesterday, the class completed th@ResilientYouthAustralia survey and enjoyed spending time with each other in the Junior School.
I am proud of their extraordinary work in caring for themselves and others.

Regards
Mr Lyle | Head of Cranmer House
