2023 International Women’s Day: ‘Women Supporting Women’ Student Workshop

As part of Canterbury’s International Women’s Day celebrations, our Years 11 and 12 female Prefects and Captains attended the Women Supporting Women workshop run by Jen Buchanan from Future Anything.

They discussed the features of a good leader, and how to avoid becoming a bad leader, and identified the important qualities and values around what it means to be a Canterbury leader and more.

Here are the outcome ‘pledges’ from our Years 11 and 12 leaders:

Our Year 11 Leaders: At Canterbury, we will try our best and strive towards inclusivity, while still remaining humble.

As leaders, we will honestly communicate with our peers to enable perspectives to be heard and equitable change to happen.

Our Year 12 Prefects: We aim to be passionate leaders that strive to achieve inclusivity through humility and honest communication.
