NEW Canterbury Entrepreneur In Residence - Peta Ellis

NEW Canterbury Entrepreneur In Residence - Peta Ellis

Please welcome Canterbury’s NEW Entrepreneur In Residence Peta Ellis, to our College community...

Peta is a genuine change-maker and community leader in the entrepreneurial landscape, and brings 20+ years of experience in Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Communications.

Peta actually launched and exited four business ventures before turning 30!

As the foundation CEO of leading innovation hub River City Labs, she led the organisation through a rapid growth phase from 2012-2017, resulting in an acquisition by the National Industry Association for ICT - The Australian Computer Society.

This merger involved managing a national expansion in 2018/19 into NSW and Victoria.

In the last ten years, she has mentored over 2,000 entrepreneurs, hosted over 2,500 start-up events, and launched the River City Labs Accelerator - which saw 34 companies graduate over four cohorts.

As a co-founder of Peak Persona and the founder of EverydayEntrepreneur365, she shares her experiences in the innovation sector, her knowledge within the acquisition space, and the unique challenges companies face when merging brands, cultures and people.

She has led teams through periods of change and challenging business situations.

She knows the importance of clear communication, structured work environments, and how to unlock various personalities to optimise their output.

Peta will be on campus most weeks, supporting our start-up and entrepreneurial students in the Secondary and Junior Schools, and as a voice of advocacy for the College’s Centre for Entrepreneurship and Leadership, and the Canterbury Business Network.

Peta will also assist with several research projects, including initiatives into learner profiles, micro-credentials, and the transferability of world ready capabilities from school into the real world workforce.

Welcome to the Canterbury Family Peta Ellis!

Yalburru Community Café | Orange Sky Australia | Extraction Artisan Coffee - Social Enterprise Arrangement

Yalburru Community Café | Orange Sky Australia | Extraction Artisan Coffee - Social Enterprise Arrangement

Canterbury’s Yalburru Community Café, with support from our coffee roasters Extraction Artisan Coffee, have entered into a social enterprise arrangement with Orange Sky Australia.

With each sale of our 250 gram Gratitude Coffee Beans Bags, $1.00 will be donated to Orange Sky Australia.

Canterbury believes in supporting social enterprises that have the sole mission of giving back to the community and being genuinely impactful.

Orange Sky Australia has a simple formula: providing a platform for every day homeless or disadvantaged Australians to connect through a regular laundry and shower service.

Their focus is on creating a safe, positive and supportive environment for people who are too often ignored or feel disconnected from their community.

Orange Sky Australia volunteers are not social workers, nor experts on homelessness - they are empathetic listeners and great conversationalists.

It is hoped the wider Canterbury community will support this College social enterprise initiative with Orange Sky Australia, by purchasing these specially marked coffee bean bags.

250g Bags of Gratitude Coffee Beans are available for purchase at our Yalburru Community Cafe for $16.50 each.
