WHAT: 2021 Battle Of The Rock Bands Competition.
WHEN: 6:30pm – 10:30pm, Thursday 7 October 2021 (Night One).
First Week Back At School - Term 4.
Doors Open: 6:00pm | Show Starts: 6:30pm.
WHERE: Mary MacKillop Learning Centre - Hall 2.
Clairvaux MacKillop College, Klumpp Road, Upper Mount Gravatt.
WHICH ROCK BAND: Our very own 21 Laneway!
WHO: ALL Canterbury College Secondary School Students & Staff.
COST: $10 Per Ticket – 600 Pax Venue Capacity.

FULL DETAILS: Our very own Canterbury Rock School Band 21 Laneway will be competing at the annual Battle Of The Rock Bands competition.
Aside from the amazing performances, there are prizes to be won, as well as a COVID-Safe dancing area.
Some of the prizes include vouchers for schools to spend on new music equipment, individual prizes for the best guitarist and best singer, and more…
There will be food trucks and a coffee van onsite, as well as drinks and other snacks for sale in our canteen.
It would be great to see our Canterbury community attending Night One of this competition, to really dominate the crowd and support 21 Laneway when they perform.
The event is designed to provide students with a full on ‘rock show’ experience - it is not your average school eisteddfod.
Bands can have a great time on stage while putting on a high-energy show, but a huge factor in this is having a high energy audience.
So we encourage students to bring along their friends to this great social event.
One of the big criteria the judges are assessing is stage presence and energy, so having a fun crowd will assist with bringing that energy!
Please Note: When booking tickets, everyone is allocated an assigned seat due to COVID rules.
However, subject to COVID conditions on the night, there should be a ‘dance floor / mosh pit’ type area open at the front near the stage, where patrons are welcome to visit during the show, instead of just staying in their seat all night.
At the moment, this is open to one person per 2m2, but this is subject to change as restrictions ease.
So please help us spread the word, then come support our very talented Rock Band in person!

Independent Schools Queensland’s highly regarded What Parents Want Survey is NOW OPEN and we need your help to get as many Canterbury parents as possible to answer these invaluable questions.
The survey examines the decision-making process that parents undertake when choosing an independent school - including cultural influences, information sources and various other social and geographic factors.
In short: Why did your parents send their children to your school?
Their responses will be extremely important for guiding future enrolments, strategic planning, budgeting, marketing and other major decisions.
It is particularly valuable to hear from your school’s most recent decision-makers - the parents of Prep, Year 7 and any new students.
Schools with more than 10 respondents will receive a School Specific Report outlining what parents want from your school.

at our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Bush Tucker Garden Planting Day last week.
All the students rotated between three stations...
Station 1: Planting Bush Tucker Plants with Mr Penny.
Station 2: Painting Clay Turtles with Aunty Desley.
Station 3: Discussing Bush Tucker Plants & Dreamtime Stories with Aunty Julie.
Councillor Laurie Koranski from Logan City Council attended the event and had a taste (literally) of what our Bush Tucker Garden had to offer!
