Year 10 Micro-Credentials Two-Day Course: Certificate II In Barista Skills | Photos & Recap
Yesterday, Mr Paul Penny and I took some Year 10 students on a morning train to the city for the first day of their two-day Micro-Credentials Barista Course, where they began working towards their Certificate II in Barista Skills with the Skills Training College – RTO 45654.
The students were fully engaged as they learned the essentials of both white and black coffee styles. ☕
Each student made approximately 24 different coffee beverages, ranging from Café Lattes, Short and Long Macchiatos to Piccolo Lattes and more.
They practised techniques for steaming milk, managing espresso shots, and presenting their drinks with a focus on consistency and quality.
By the end of the session, they had a solid foundation in coffee-making skills, and gained confidence in working under the real-time pressures of a busy café setting.
The experience not only improved their practical skills, but also gave them a better understanding of the responsibilities and challenges of working in the Hospitality industry.
We had a great day filled with learning and hands-on experiences, helping our students get ready for the real world.
