The Resilience Project: Brisbane Broncos Visit Canterbury College!

Today, our Junior School Years 5-6 students were treated to a special visit from two Brisbane Broncos sporting stars, as part of our whole College’s wellbeing program: The Resilience Project.

Longtime Broncos second-rower and former skipper Alex Glenn (now retired), and current NRL Women’s Broncos captain and superstar Ali Brigginshaw, hosted an interactive workshop with our students focused on resilience and wellbeing.

Through personal life, sport and team stories and practical strategies, they provided valuable insights aimed at fostering mental resilience among our young students.

The workshop centred around the principles of GEM: Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness, plus Emotional Literacy, equipping students with essential tools to enhance their emotional intelligence and promote positive mental health.

By sharing their own experiences and discussing the importance of these principles, Alex and Ali encouraged our students to cultivate a resilient mindset too.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Alex Glenn, Ali Brigginshaw and the Brisbane Broncos for their contribution to our students’ own wellbeing journey – and for all the autographs at the end!
