2024 Young Business Leaders Program | Term 2 Co-Curricular Entrepreneurship Program – Expressions Of Interest OPEN NOW!

Last Thursday morning, Canterbury’s future ‘business movers and shakers’ attended Term One’s Beenleigh-Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce Student Breakfast, at Beenleigh’s Trinity College.

Our students joined other schools for the pleasure of hearing BOP Industries’ CEO and Founder Scott Millar share his personal business story.

Scott first seriously harnessed his entrepreneurial mindset as a Year 9 student while completing a school business project.

At the breakfast, he shared both the challenges and successes of his keyring business, and how he attended local market stalls to sell his products, before levelling up and creating an online store.

Our students were inspired to learn about his remarkable journey from a 14-year-old market stall holder, to Scott’s adventures running a tech startup company in Year 11, and then founding his own educational consultancy business on his 18th birthday!

Next term, Canterbury students are joining fellow Logan area schools to participate in the 2024 Young Business Leaders Program facilitated by BOP Industries, with support from the Beenleigh-Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce and Quota Beenleigh organisations.

Expressions Of Interest for this exciting program are OPEN NOW with full details below…

Dear Senior School Students,

Are you a creative thinker?

Applications for the 2024 Young Business Leaders Program are OPEN NOW!

BOP Industries and the Beenleigh-Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce invite local students in Years 7-12 to join their 8-week Young Business Leaders Program.

The program launches with an initial Startup Day at Canterbury College on Wednesday 17 April, packed full of entrepreneurial workshops and activities.

This will give students the foundations, plans and strategies needed to kickstart their business journeys.

Workshop sessions then occur from 3:30pm – 5:00pm every Wednesday afternoon from 24 April to 12 June during Term 2.

The culmination of this 8-week program, is participating students have the opportunity to promote and sell their very own concept via market stalls at a special Breakfast Showcase finale on Thursday 13 June – the second last day of Term 2.

Naturally, it is expected that all students who attend the Startup Day are available for this entire 8-week After School program.

Best of all, this program is fully funded by the Beenleigh-Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce and Quota Beenleigh, so there is ZERO cost to students.
