2024 TAS Athletics Carnival: Canterbury WINS Overall School Champions! | Event Wrap & Photo Gallery

On Tuesday, our TAS Athletics Team headed to QSAC – the Queensland State Athletics Centre in what was to be an action-packed day of Track and Field challenges.

Canterbury students showcased their ‘need for speed’ on the track with dominant performances in the 100m, 200m and 800m events.

The pinnacle was perhaps the last event of the day which was the 4 x 100m Relays.

The Canterbury girls stepped up and were clinical with their baton changeovers, winning five out of the six relays.

Our Canterbury boys were also exceptional, placing Top Three in all but two Relays.

In the field events, Canterbury went superbly, placing in more than 75% of the events.

From High Jump, Long Jump, Discus, Shot Put and Javelin, Canterbury students gave their all.

A special ‘shout out’ must go to Mrs Brooke King and her team of coaches for preparing the students in the lead-up to this major event.

All students demonstrated their ‘Win Well, Lose Well, While Always Being Gracious’ philosophy, which was showcased throughout the day.

We extend our congratulations to the Canterbury Age Champions, as well as the Second and Third placegetters.

Athletics at Canterbury just keeps going from strength to strength.

Well done to all students, coaches and the parents and carers for their support of our Track and Field Program.
