Taipan Roboneers: Rochedale Regional First Lego League Challenge – Saturday Report

Last Saturday, our very own Taipan Roboneers represented the College at the Rochedale Regional First Lego League Challenge, hosted at Redeemer Lutheran College.

Our two teams did Canterbury proud, showing gracious professionalism throughout the day, as they participated in the robot games, and presented their robots for judging, after many hours of dedication, cooperation and hard work.

Our students learned about perseverance, and developed resilience and teamwork skills, in readiness for the big day, as they created and modified their robots and coding.

Along with robotics, our two Canterbury teams were required to develop an innovative solution around clean energy.

Prototypes were constructed after extensive investigation and presented to a panel on the day for judging.

It was an exciting day full of highs and lows.

Taipan Roboneers A finished the robot games in an honourable 4th place, while Taipan Roboneers B received the first-place trophy for their robot design!

Each member of both teams has been dedicated and passionate about completing their tasks.

Congratulations to all the members, as we celebrate and acknowledge your efforts and talent – Penina Pao, Angelina Pao, Gurjaap Buttar, Jemima Boothman, Michael Kotykhov, Junjie Chen, Sylar Carney, Haoran Zhang, Michael Wilkinson, Finley Sykes, Flynn McConkey, Kavin Velu, Henry Flaxman, Lochlan McDougall, Shubham Bhatt, Oliver Toms, Ruoxi Chen and Lillian Pollock.
