Hello Canterbury Taipans Tennis Families!
I can’t believe Term 3 is almost over already, with time flying during my busy journey settling into the Canterbury Taipans Team.
So I thank all our tennis members for being so welcoming, and hope you enjoyed this term’s Junior Tennis Fixture competitions.
Working with you all has been a pleasure to make our Canterbury Taipans Sports Club an excellent family and community hub.
Now here’s what is coming up for our mighty Canterbury Taipans Tennis Club…
Junior Tennis Fixtures: Term 4 Season – Saturday Mornings
Our Head Tennis Coach Mr Andrew Davey and I recently returned from the Tennis Logan City Annual General Meeting and Committee Meeting, regarding our Junior Tennis Fixtures Season for Term 4 and next year.
After some solid discussions, our Saturday Junior Fixtures will run in line with Term 4.
This Term 4 Season will run every Saturday morning for eight weeks, commencing on 7 October 2023, with the finals scheduled for 2 December 2023.
The leagues are Orange Ball (8 – 10 Years), Green Ball (10 – 12 Years) and Yellow Ball (13 Years +).
Cost: $20 per individual player to enter.
In 2024, we will move to a ‘three-seasons-per-year’ tennis competition.
The first season in 2024 will start around Week 2 of Term 1 and run for 12 weeks plus the finals.
Then there will be a short break before starting the following season.
This decision was made to strengthen each fixture season with a few more weeks of play, while providing more opportunities for players and teams to improve their tennis skills throughout the year.

Canterbury Taipans September School Holiday Programs
We have officially launched our September School Holiday Programs!
These include Swimming, Athletics, Netball and Tennis Camps.
Our Tennis Camps will run from 8:30am – 4:00pm Monday to Friday from Monday 18 – Friday 29 September 2023.
There are half-day and full-day options available.
Each day of our camps will expose children to sport-specific training and a mixture of cross-training fitness activities and mindset coaching, for a holistic approach to developing young athletes.

Term 4 Updated Tennis Timetable & Pro Squad Programs
As Term 3 ends, our Term 4 coaching programs have just gone live!
Please check the link below to start re-registering for your preferred programs and timeslots.
We are excited to commence our new Tennis Pro Squad Program for each level.
Our Pro Squads will allow our young members to achieve a higher standard and play more often, with access to timetables offering daily sessions from Monday to Friday for a single fixed program fee.
This will be an option for any member currently in a Pro-Level Program who wants to switch, and/or anyone who has completed one of our foundation levels and is ready to move up to the pro level.
