2023 Young Business Leaders 8-Week Program Finale | Today's Showcase Breakfast Market Stalls & 3 Winners!

2023 Young Business Leaders 8-Week Program Finale | Today's Showcase Breakfast Market Stalls & 3 Winners!

Today a number of Canterbury College students were involved in the Showcase Breakfast for the Young Business Leaders Program held at Club Beenleigh.

This Showcase event provided an opportunity for our young entrepreneurs to advertise and pitch their businesses to members of the community, parents, carers and other school students.

After a buffet breakfast, Maddie from BOP Industries announced a number of winners judged from today's showcase stalls.

So we are excited to announce that Canterbury College received three awards!

Emerald and Saphfire from Plan A Education received the award for Most Viable Business Idea.

Ava Heath from Sow A Sentiment received the award for Most Out Of The Box Business Idea.

Joshua Brass from Brass Baker received the Underdog Award.

It was a fantastic morning celebrating the efforts and achievements of our Young Business Leaders, who have worked extremely hard on their business creations throughout Term 2.

Students have thoroughly enjoyed the program delivered by BOP Industries in conjunction with the Beenleigh Yatala Junior Chamber of Commerce.

We look forward to seeing how these businesses develop and grow into the future.

REMINDER: ENDS SOON! Canterbury College And The School Locker Announce Uniforms Price Freeze Until 1 July 2023

REMINDER: ENDS SOON! Canterbury College And The School Locker Announce Uniforms Price Freeze Until 1 July 2023

Special Notice: 28 September 2022

Dear Parents & Carers,

With high inflation and rising interest rates putting added financial pressure on our families, we are extremely pleased to announce that Canterbury College, with School Uniform partners The School Locker, have jointly imposed a price freeze on uniform items until 1 July 2023!

Both organisations are very happy to deliver this news, after the last two frustrating years of heavily COVID-disrupted production lines and delivery dates beyond our control, for many of our core uniform items.

Thankfully, these are all now largely back in stock, or suitable substitutes have been sourced, with bulk deliveries received across Terms 2 and 3.

Over the past several years, the Uniform Supply Industry has experienced significant cost increases in raw materials, factory production, onshore freight charges, and wage costs for local Australian retail teams.

Every level of the supply chain, including local suppliers, have been passing on these costs to the consumer over this time.

With these adverse conditions in mind, The School Locker holds a service agreement with Canterbury, which allows for annual CPI price increases, to compensate for these added operational expenses.

However, in partnership with Canterbury College leadership, The School Locker has committed to deferring any price increases to the middle of next year and absorbing these higher expenses.

Both parties genuinely understand the difficult economic environment at present, and appreciate the loyalty of our parent body over this year’s transitional period.

So in return, we offer this nine month Canterbury uniform price freeze until 1 July 2023, to lend a very practical helping hand.

Kind regards,

Mr Dan Walker              Ms Harmony Bonney
