We are pleased to announce the subject results for the Canterbury Class of 2025.

All students undertake three Internal Assessments (IAs) and one External Assessment (EA) in each subject studied.

The results of IAs and EAs are added together to create a score out of 100 for each subject.  Students are also awarded an A-E grade for each subject, based on their score.

All Queensland students received their EA results, subject scores and grades today. ATARs will be released by the QCAA on 18 December.

The Class of 2025 have achieved at levels which compare very favourably to the top academic schools in the state. These are our strongest academic results in Canterbury College’s 38 year history.

Grades by Subject % Cohort
A in six subjects 14%
A in five subjects 21%
A in four subjects 12%
A in three subjects 8%

Therefore, 55% of students achieved at least three As in their results issued today.

47% of all grades achieved by Canterbury ATAR students in 2025 were As. 44% of grades were Bs.

The average subject score across all general subjects was 86/100.

16 of our 21 subjects achieved their best ever overall average scores in 2025, which is a remarkable statistic, in and of itself.

The Principal, Dan Walker, reflected on the subject results of our Class of 2025 in anticipation of ATARs being released shortly:

“Underpinning each of these subject scores for each Canterbury student, is an engine of ambition, fuelled by outstanding classroom teaching and student engagement.”

“Careful mentoring of our students by teachers, Heads of Faculty, Heads of House and the senior leadership team sit at the heart of this success.”

“We aspire to be recognised as the number one coeducational school in the state and these results show that we are well on our way to achieving this ambition.”

About the QCE:

The QCE is Queensland’s senior secondary schooling qualification. The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) issues the QCE. The QCAA provides student subject results to the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) for the calculation of ATARs for university entry. Many students also earn credits towards their QCE in Certificate or Diploma level qualifications completed alongside their academic studies.
