Year 8 Mandarin Dumpling Making Lesson

In China and other Chinese-speaking communities, making dumplings is a cherished tradition that symbolises unity and prosperity, often bringing families together during special occasions or simply for leisure.

This term, our Year 8 Mandarin students have been exploring a unit on Leisure Time, learning about the activities that Chinese people enjoy in their spare time.

To deepen their cultural understanding, students had the exciting opportunity to hand-make dumplings on Friday 12 September, and then enjoy their creations using chopsticks.

It was a fun and hands-on way to experience an important aspect of Chinese culture!
