This participation will result in valuable House points!

Carnival Schedule:

There will be two pre-carnival events held prior to the big day.

Discus will take place on Monday 23 May commencing at 7:00am until 8:00am for Years 3 and 4 students, and on Tuesday 24 May for Years 5 and 6 students.

The 800m race will be held on Wednesday 25 May commencing at 7:15am.

Both events will go towards the House points and individual Age Champion awards.

Age Champions will be awarded in all year groups, to students who collectively gain the most House points across all events.

These awards will be presented at the conclusion of the carnival along with the winning House.

Students must wear their House shirt with their navy PE shorts, and sports shoes and socks to school.

The Canterbury College sports hat must also be worn.

Students are to bring their College sports bag with the following items:
• Two water bottles
• Sunscreen
• Lunch box with healthy nutritious snacks.

The Canteen will be operational on carnival day – but please note, students will have limited opportunity to visit the Canteen due to the tight scheduling of events.

Please ensure students have substantial food and drink for the day.

2022 Junior TAS Athletics Training Squad

To be a member of the 2022 Junior TAS Athletics Training Squad, students in Years 3 – 6 MUST place in the Top Three for their year group in High Jump, Long Jump, Shot Put, 200m or the 800m events, OR Top 5 for the 100m event.

Students who are successful in obtaining these placings, will be invited to attend Athletics training in Terms 2 and 3.

Please Note: This is our Training Squad and NOT our final Junior TAS Athletics Team to compete on Friday 9 September 2022.

Students will be selected according to training performances, attitude and attendance.

2022 Beenleigh Zones Track & Field Trials

The Beenleigh Zones Track & Field Trials will be held on Wednesday 15 June 2022 at Windaroo State School.

The Canterbury students selected for these trials will be based strictly on results from the Interhouse Athletics Carnival.

Students will be notified if they are successful in making this team.

We look forward to celebrating the many achievements of students at this event, and we warmly encourage and welcome parents and spectators to attend!

Yours faithfully
