WHAT: 2022 Canterbury Taipans Swimming Club – Long Course Preparation Meet

This is a Brisbane Swimming Association sanctioned meet.

Times swam will be recognised as Qualifying Times for ALL meets, including the Australian Championships.

WHEN: 6:45am – 2:00pm, Sunday 6 February 2022

Session 1 – Juniors (8 – 11 years)
Warm-up commences 6:45am | Competition commences 7:30am

Session 2 – Seniors (11 years & over)
Warm-up commences 11:00am (approx.) | Competition commences 11:30am (approx.)

NB: Public swimming will be unavailable on this day.

WHERE: Canterbury College Aquatic Centre
– Use Gate E via 182 Old Logan Village Road, Waterford (Gate Opens 6:30am).
– Then follow the signs with plenty of onsite parking.

SPECTATORS ENTRY FEE WITH RAFFLE: $5.00 Per Family
Raffle tickets & prizes available onsite. | Printed program booklet included.

NOMINATION FEE: $7.00 Per Individual Event

ELIGIBILITY

Entry is open to Swimming Queensland ‘Competitive’ Registered Swimmers, who are members of an affiliated Swimming Queensland club.

Multi Class (MC) Swimmers are welcome and will be seeded according to Age and Time.

Participant’s ages will be taken as their age on event day – Sunday 6 February 2022.

EVENT BASICS

Please see the full Event Program below with ALL events to be swam as timed Finals.

Referee’s decisions will be final and they hold the right to combine heats and events on the day.

Self-marshalling will be in place for this meet.

TIMEKEEPING

All clubs competing are asked to provide timekeepers based on their number of nominated swimmers.

A Timekeeping Roster will be emailed closer to the meet date.

COVID-SAFE INFORMATION

To comply with Queensland Government COVID-Safe Event Regulations, ALL nominees must agree to these COVID-19 Terms & Conditions, plus Canterbury’s Aquatic Centre COVID-Safe protocols displayed pool-side.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

NO smoking, alcohol consumption or pets allowed within the College grounds.

Please park in the designated parking areas only, with detailed parking maps to be sent to clubs shortly.

EVENT PROGRAM

Session 1 – Juniors (8 – 11 years)

Medals will be awarded to the fastest three placegetters in each age group for the following events:

  • 50m Events (8, 9, 10, 11 years).
  • 100m Freestyle (8, 9, 10, 11 years).
  • All other 100m Events and 200m Events (9, 10, 11 years).

Session 2 – Seniors (11 years & over)

Warm-up commences 11:00am (approx.) | Competition commences 11:30am (approx.)

  • Medals will be awarded to the fastest three placegetters in each age group for the 50m and 100m Events (12, 13, 14, 15 years & over).
  • Medals will be awarded to the fastest three placegetters overall in the Open Events (200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m).
