Year 9 and 10 Dance Students Inspired by Contemporary Performance

On Thursday 15 May, Year 9 and 10 Dance students attended Blue by the Australasian Dance Collective (ADC) as part of their curriculum studies.

This excursion is a key element of the Dance program, offering students the chance to experience high-quality live performance and deepen their understanding of the art form.

Celebrating 40 years of dance, Blue featured a dynamic triple bill that honoured ADC’s past, celebrated its present, and envisioned its future.

The performance was not only artistically rich but also directly linked to the students’ current unit, Moving Stories, which explores narrative through choreography.

Seeing industry professionals perform live enabled students to critically engage with choreographic structures, performance techniques, and design elements.

It also provided valuable inspiration for their creative work.
