Chess Mates: For Prep – Year 1 AND Junior Chess Club: For Years 2 – 6

Dear Parents and Carers,

In Term 1, Chess will be offered as an After School Program for all Junior School students.

There will be two separate programs aimed at the skill and development level of each age group.

Chess Mates: For Prep – Year 1

Chess Mates is a program which offers chess classes for children from an early age in a supportive and engaging environment.

Canterbury will be continuing their partnership with the Chess Mates organisation in 2022, to provide chess classes for our Prep and Year 1 students.

Lessons will be held on Friday afternoons from 3:20pm – 4:00pm in the Junior School Discovery Centre.

The Chess Mates program costs $90.00 which will be sundry billed.

The first session begins Friday 18 February 2022 and runs for 6 weeks, with the final session being held on Friday 25 March 2022.

Students will need to meet a Canterbury staff member at the Junior School Discovery Centre for entry.

Students will need to be picked up from the Junior School Office promptly at 4:00pm.
