Canterbury’s 38th Foundation Day Celebration | Chapel Service, Principal’s Address & Alumnus of the Year Award
Last Friday, Canterbury came together to celebrate its 38th Foundation Day with a meaningful morning Chapel Service in the Canterbury Events Centre, honouring nearly four decades of growth, excellence, and unity.
Led by College Chaplain Fr Dan Talbot, the Foundation Day Service offered a time for reflection and gratitude, bringing together our whole College community.
Principal Mr Dan Walker delivered a heartfelt address, acknowledging the vision, dedication, and hard work of our founding staff during the early years of 1985 to 1987, a legacy that continues to shape Canterbury today.
As part of this special tradition, we were proud to announce the 2025 Alumnus of the Year: Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Glover (Class of 2001), currently serving as Commander of the Australian Contingent on Operation Mazurka in the Sinai.
We warmly congratulate him on this well-deserved recognition.
A sincere thank you to all special guests who joined us in marking this important occasion, including The Right Reverend Bishop John Roundhill, Bishop of the Southern Region, members of the College Board, our Canterbury Parent Consultative Committee, Alumni and past staff, current staff, parents and students of the College.
We also commend our student leaders for their thoughtful contributions on stage and thank the choir for their beautiful performances.
