Years 2-4 Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Pizza Day!
https://youtu.be/mqoGVuo9lCE
Our Years 2, 3 and 4 students have been growing basil, chives, parsley, capsicum, oregano, cherry tomatoes and leafy greens this term. 🍅🌿🧄🥬🧅
As part of our 🌱 Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program, these students could finally utilise this produce for Pizza Day, spreading tomato base sauce and sprinkling on cheese, herbs and other toppings. 🍽️🧀
With assistance from our handy staff members, delicious wood-fired pizzas 🔥🍕 were prepared by the students, for a memorable and tasty highlight during our last week of Term 1.

Introducing Canterbury’s New Head Swimming Coach: Sarah Scott
Introducing Canterbury’s New Head Swimming Coach: Sarah Scott
Canterbury College is excited to officially announce our new Head Swimming Coach – Sarah Scott.
Sarah is currently Head Coach at the South Lake Dolphins Swimming Club in Western Australia, and will be joining us to commence Term Two.
Sarah began her swim coaching career in Western Australia, before being invited to join the coaching team at the Nunawading Swimming Club in Melbourne, Victoria.
Upon starting this role in 2015, Sarah also took the reins of the National Development Swimming Squad, before taking the lead of the National Age Swimming Program shortly after.
In conjunction with her primary coaching role, Sarah worked closely with the Nunawading High Performance Squad – alongside 2020 Olympians Brendon Smith, Jessica Hansen and Matthew Temple; 2016 Paralympian Madeleine Scott; and 2022 Australian Team members Bowen Gough and Mikayla Smith.
In 2020, she became Head Coach of Melbourne’s Northcote Swimming Club, followed by Head Coach of the South Lake Dolphins Swimming Club in 2022, in Fremantle (WA).
Sarah holds an Advanced Coaching Accreditation and is in the process of finalising her Performance Coaching Accreditation.
Over the past 10 years, Sarah has shown an amazing ability for nurturing and developing high performance levels on the national swimming stage, with three of her former athletes earning a place on the 2022 Australian Junior Pan Pacific Swim Team.
In addition to her coaching experience, Sarah also holds a Bachelor of Sport Science, majoring in Exercise Physiology from Deakin University.
She also places a high level of focus on the development of healthy performance mindsets, with an emphasis on growth and resilience.
On behalf of the Canterbury Community, we warmly welcome Sarah Scott to our wonderful Waterford campus for Term Two.

Year 3 Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden | Harvest Time! 🌱
Year 3 Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden | Harvest Time!
Today our little green thumbs from Year 3 got to reap what they sowed when they harvested and tasted some delicious radishes and snowpeas from the garden they planted earlier this term. 🐞👩🌾🌿🧑🏽🌾🌱
They also got to plant some hanging pots of Nasturtiums and Marigolds, which will blossom into a nice feature over the garden's white picket fence. 🪴🌼🍃🌷
Photos of today's harvest can be found HERE on our Facebook page.

Canterbury Secondary Students Volunteer With Rosies
Canterbury Secondary Students Volunteer With Rosies
Last night, Canterbury Secondary students Sienna, Emerson, Ava and Bridie teamed up in 📍 Beenleigh, where they met the @rosiesqld team. 🌹🌹🌹
The students helped prepare and serve food, distributed blankets and sanitary items and conversed with the community's homeless, at-risk or socially isolated people. 🍲🧃🧴🪥
A recent report uncovered the number of homeless has soared more than 20 per cent in just five years — almost threefold the growth nationally. 📈😟
So, if you would like more information about the important work Rosies does or would like to donate to their cause or volunteer your time, please visit their website. https://rosies.org.au 🌐💌

Easter Olympics | Cranmer House 🐺🟡 VS Goldsworthy House 🦅🟣
Easter Olympics | Cranmer House 🐺🟡 VS Goldsworthy House 🦅🟣
Who doesn't love a bit of friendly competition? 💪
That was on the cards today when students from Years 7-9 in 🐺🟡 Cranmer House took on 🦅🟣 Goldsworthy House in a social game of Easter Olympics, accomplished in Canterbury College style.
There were chocolate Easter egg & spoon races, carrot lobbing, and marshmallow mouth-catching activities. 🥚🥄🍫🥕⚪
Like a busy bunny warren, there was chaos and carrots everywhere, but the first team to hot-cross hop over the finish line was... Goldsworthy House. 🟣🏆🦅
Well done to everyone who participated in this egg-citing Easter challenge. 🐰🥕🐇🐤
Photos will soon be available on our Facebook Page.
