What: 8-Week Chess Mates Program - Chess Mates is the preferred chess class provider for parents and children right across Queensland!
When: 3:20pm - 4:00pm Every Friday Afternoon For 8 Weeks.
First Session: THIS Friday 29 April 2022.
Last Session: Friday 17 June 2022.
Where: Canterbury's Junior School Library Discovery Centre.
Who: ALL Prep - Year 1 students are warmly invited to take part in this program.
Cost: The total cost of the 8-week program is $120.00
8 weeks x $15 per weekly class = $120.00

1st Fives Rugby Program: Prep To Year 3 - ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT!
Dear Parents and Carers,
Here in Term 2, Canterbury will be offering the 1st Fives Rugby Program to our Junior School students in Prep – Year 3.
The 1st Fives Rugby Program consists of eight sessions - one per week over eight weeks, to give boys and girls aged from 5 - 9 years old, a fun-filled and interactive introduction to the wonderful game of Rugby Union.
It is an exciting non-contact structured play program, which encourages children to:
- engage in a supportive team environment,
- build their self confidence, and
- become more physically active while learning the skills and values of Rugby Union.
Please Note: ONLY 2 SPOTS LEFT! (4:30pm 26/04/22)
When: Wednesday Afternoons From 3:30pm – 4:30pm x Eight Sessions
First Session – THIS Wednesday 27 April 2022
Final Session – Wednesday 15 June 2022
Location: Junior School Oval – Students are to meet at the artificial grass area to have their name marked off the roll, and then be taken down to the Junior School Oval by the supervising teacher.
Prep students will be walked down to the meeting point by a Prep Teacher or Assistant.
Uniform: Students can wear their school uniform and do not need to get changed. Students can change into sport shoes should they wish to.
Cost: The cost for the 8-week program is $105.78 which will be sundry billed.
Registration: Parents/Carers will need to register their children for the 1st Fives Rugby Program by clicking HERE.

Thank you for being generous to us this term. I got to learn many things.
I never knew before about: bok choy, basil, chives, parsley, worm tea, mulch, weed tea, white apples, minims, pink lime berries and way more.
You have been generous and let us even try all these fruits.

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,
Our Canterbury Health Holiday Program will commence on Monday 27 June 2022.
- About
Canterbury Health courses are being offered to students in Years 10 - 12, who are interested in getting a career head-start in the Health Care sector.
Successful completion of these courses will qualify students to work as an Assistant In Nursing (AIN) and provide the foundational knowledge needed to undertake further studies in this field.
The Certificate II and III Courses are completed as a package, commencing in the June/July holidays and finishing in the September/October holidays.
They are conducted in partnership with Axiom College in our purpose-built Canterbury Health Mini-Hospital in P Block.
- The Canterbury Health program will:
- Develop the skills needed to comply with infection prevention and workplace health and safety (WHS).
- Guide students to interpret and apply medical terminology and recognise healthy body systems.
- Teach students how to transport clients and carry out nursing assistant duties in various settings.
- Timetable
The program will run from 9am to 3pm each day during the holidays.
The first part of the course will run from Monday 27 June until Friday 8 July, and the remainder of the course will run from Monday 19 September to Friday 30 September 2022.

- Cost
For eligible students, the Canterbury Health program is significantly subsidised by VETis funding from the Federal Government to the value of $2,000.
The remaining out-of-pocket cost is $800 and will be charged to parents/carers in your Term 3 SRC, with the fee including a professional grade nursing kit and scrubs.

We kick-start 'Tri 2' by competing Away against St Paul's School over at Bald Hills on Brisbane's northside.
Our Junior TAS players have another week to prepare with their first round in Term 2's Week 2 on Saturday 30 April.

Junior School Homework Club: Term 2
Dear Parents and Carers,
The Junior School Homework Club program will continue in Term 2, for our Years 5 and 6 students.
This program is designed to support our older Junior School students as they develop their independent study skills.
The Taipan Tutors - a dedicated group of Secondary School students - will run this club under the supervision of teaching staff.
Attending Years 5 and 6 students will be supported to work on their set homework tasks, practice their Learner’s Toolkit skills, or undertake some quiet reading.
Program Details:
What: Junior School Homework Club
Supervised and supported homework, study or quiet reading time with afternoon tea fruit provided.
When: 3:30pm – 4:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Afternoons
From Week 2 (THIS Tuesday 26 April) TO Week 8 (Thursday 9 June)
Where: Junior School Library Discovery Centre
Who: Years 5 & 6 Students
Students will meet their supervising teacher at 3:20pm at The Green.
Students can be collected from the Junior School car park after 4:30pm OR directly from the Discovery Centre (Junior School Library) between 3:30pm and 4:30pm.
How: Please register your child/ren through the Parent Lounge portal accessible through MyCC.
Students registered in Term 1 do not need to re-register.
Cost: FREE!
