Reflecting On The Future Of Education Summit 2024: A Transformative Experience

Reflecting On The Future Of Education Summit 2024: A Transformative Experience

For the second consecutive year, Canterbury College proudly hosted The Future Of Education Summit in partnership with BOP Industries.

This year’s summit saw an impressive gathering of 205 educators over a two-day event.

We were honoured to welcome educational leaders and industry experts from diverse locations, including New Delhi, Perth, Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Townsville, Gladstone, Bundaberg, and, of course, Brisbane.

The Summit ’24 was a phenomenal experience for our Canterbury College staff, providing an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experts across various sectors.

The highlights of Summit ’24 were numerous, but a few stand out in particular.

We cherished the forward-thinking discussions about the future of education, the bold challenges to the status quo within our schools, and, most importantly, the emphasis on listening to and amplifying the voices of our students.

As we reflect on the insights and connections gained from this summit, we are inspired and motivated to continue pushing the boundaries of education to better serve our students and communities.

We look forward to carrying the momentum from Summit ’24 into our daily practices and future initiatives.

Dear Junior School Parents and Carers,

One of my goals when I started here, was to increase opportunities for parents and carers to engage with our students, with each other, and with the leaders of Canterbury College.

This term, we will be launching a variety of platforms where members of our community can come together to build a strong and supportive network.

Please watch our video outlining these new opportunities, and how you can become involved.

I'm quite excited about these upcoming events, and I look forward to seeing you around the College.

Warm regards,
Karen Roman

Year 9 Science On The GO! Incursion

Year 9 Science On The GO! Incursion

FILMED UNDER STRICT SAFETY CONDITIONS

Yesterday, our Year 9 students participated in a dynamic science incursion led by Mr. Sidney Hooker from Griffith University as part of the 'Science on the GO!' program.

This initiative engaged students in a series of visual and practical experiments, preparing them for their upcoming assessments.

In these assessments, they will present smaller, and less startling scientific experiments to our Junior School students.

The enthusiasm and positive reactions from our Year 9 students highlight the captivating nature of science as a subject.
