Our team are working to restore this issue.

Delays may continue over the next 12-24 hours.

If your child has assessment due and cannot upload to MyCC, please reassure them that their teacher is aware of the internet disruption, and they will not be disadvantaged.

Celebrating Queensland's School Crossing Supervisors’ 40 Years Service During National Road Safety Week (Monday 26 – Friday 30 August)

Celebrating Queensland's School Crossing Supervisors’ 40 Years Service During National Road Safety Week (Monday 26 – Friday 30 August)

This year, Queensland’s School Crossing Supervisor Scheme celebrates 40 years of keeping kids safe as they travel to and from school.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads is celebrating this milestone across the state during this Queensland Road Safety Week (26-30 August 2024).

So we'd like to say a big ‘thank you’ to our wonderful Canterbury School Crossing Supervisors for everything you do for our students and school community.

You do a great job keeping our students and other pedestrians safe, as they cross the road in peak drop-off and pick-up times.

You too can show your appreciation for our School Crossing Supervisors by slowing down, following directions, and being courteous while travelling within our school zone during peak times.

Did You Know?

  • The School Crossing Supervisor Scheme is operated by the Department of Transport and Main Roads.
  • There are more than 2,000 school crossing supervisors who operate over 1,300 crossings at more than 700 Queensland schools.
  • There has not been a single fatality on a supervised crossing since the scheme started in 1984!

More information and resources are located on the StreetSmarts Queensland Website HERE.

2024 Junior School Annual Book Week Parade | Event Wrap, Photo Gallery & Highlights Video

2024 Junior School Annual Book Week Parade | Event Wrap, Photo Gallery & Highlights Video

This year's theme: ‘Reading Is Magic’ sparked a huge outpouring of creativity as our ELC to Year 6 students transformed into their favourite book characters.

From well-known superheroes, to Harry Potters, Frozen Elsa princesses, and Alices in Wonderland, the Canterbury Events Centre was filled with joy and literary enthusiasm.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parents and carers who helped make this major event a vibrant success, with their hard work and patience behind the scenes making these costumes with their children.

Our inhouse favourite Book Week student costume was the young boy who actually dressed up as our very own Mr Paul Penny, and proudly carried around the literary masterpiece ‘Mr Penny’s Potato Patch’ written by Canterbury’s own Head of Libraries & Information Services Mrs Anita Pendreigh (please see our photo gallery).

All the great photos from the 2024 Junior School Annual Book Week Parade can be found on our Facebook Page HERE.
