2024 Junior School Grandparents & Special Friends Day | Event Wrap & Photo Gallery
Last Friday morning 18 October, our Junior School warmly welcomed their ELC – Year 6 students’ grandparents and older special friends, to celebrate this special event inside the CEC and at the various classrooms.
The day began with delightful dance and choir performances by the students, followed by classroom visits, where the VIP visitors and children enjoyed various activities and touring the campus together.
This occasion provides a wonderful opportunity for students and the Canterbury community to express their direct gratitude for the love and support of grandparents and special older friends, away from our Mother’s Day Breakfast and Father’s Day BBQ.
So we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the guests who joined us here on campus.
Your presence helped strengthen the bond between generations, making the day truly memorable for everyone.
To view all the photos from the event, please visit our Facebook Page HERE.
And to all those parents and carers (who might feel a bit jealous!), we have videos of all the on-stage CEC performances on the MyCC News section. Enjoy!

eSports: The FUSE Cup | We Are The 2024 Mario Kart Grand Final Champions!
After two thrilling days of Mario Kart battles at the FUSE Cup hosted by Canterbury College, today’s Grand Final was nothing short of epic!
Canterbury's Year 10 student Alexander Sayers - last year’s reigning FUSE Cup Mario Kart Deluxe eSports Global Champion, teamed up with the ever-determined Year 9 prodigy Lincoln Homann, to take on the 2024 Mario Kart Grand Final with full throttle.
Four thrilling rounds, intense racing, and plenty of blue-shell drama kept everyone on the edge of their seats.
Despite some tough hits in round two, Alex dialed in with laser focus, pulling off a stunning first-place finish in the final lap!
A massive shout-out to all the South-East Queensland schools who joined the competition - it was an epic two days, with lots of fist-bumps and encouragement to all.

Microsoft Australia Interviews Mr James Jenkins & Mr Afzal Shariff | Empowering Students To Be 'World Ready'
As an official Microsoft Australia Lighthouse School then Showcase School for years now, the Australian Division of this global hardware and software giant interviewed our very own Head of AI and Digital Transformation and Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Fellow Mr James Jenkins, along with the College’s Director of IT Services Mr Afzal Shariff.
Their angle? How digital learning and technology has become so deeply integrated into Canterbury’s curriculum and administration, that it’s become seamless ‘second nature’ like a “fish swimming in water.”
