Stepping Up: 2024 Southern Federation Of Dance Exams!
Our dancers were all smiles today as 40 students from Prep to Year 7 took to Canterbury's Performing Arts stage for the Southern Federation of Dance exams.
Guest examiners Ms Hayley Iffland and Ms Danielle Christensen loved seeing our students’ beautiful dance technique.
After a year of dedication and practice with Mrs Barraclough, they were clearly excited to perform.
Each dancer will receive their well-deserved reports, certificates and medals in the new year.

Last Friday evening 1 November, the 2024 Canterbury Soloists Evening showcased remarkable performances by 13 talented student musicians.
Congratulations to these dedicated students, who captivated the audience as Canterbury’s top auditioned soloists.
Thank you to the parents/carers and teachers for their invaluable support in helping them reach this level of excellence.

A fully expanded 2023 Canterbury College Yearbook is now available for downloading below.
The actual printed copies of this now 300-page publication will be available for campus-wide distribution and collection during the last week of Term 4.
We hope you enjoy the extra 100 pages of content and photo spreads that now more accurately represent the huge array of educational programs, offerings, events and activities that Canterbury College now offers students and their families, and our wider community throughout the year.
The 2024 Canterbury College Yearbook is scheduled for a much earlier distribution around Term 1 next year, after spending a great deal of time this year revamping and expanding our yearbook format.

Today marked a minor milestone as our Canterbury Rock School staged its very first concert at Junior School’s brand new Nabei (verb meaning ‘to play’) Multipurpose Outdoor Learning Space during lunchtime.
With its spacious and cool shaded area, Nabei provided the perfect setting for the concert out of the hot Spring day sunshine.
Our school’s rock bands – Food Fighter and Breaking News, delivered an energising performance, filling the atmosphere with lively tunes, as the Junior School students enjoyed their lunches.
This event was a great opportunity to strengthen connections between the Senior and Junior Schools, inspiring younger students to follow in the footsteps of our talented musicians.

Senior School Spanish Students Celebrate The Day Of The Dead
Today in Global Studies, our Spanish classes are exploring the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.
This Mexican holiday, observed on November 1st and 2nd, is dedicated to honouring and remembering loved ones who have passed.
Family and friends gather to create colourful altars, decorated with photos, mementos, and favourite foods of the departed, inviting their spirits to join in the celebration.
This tradition is both heartfelt and light-hearted, as families share stories and memories to keep the spirit of their loved ones alive.

Red And Silver Canterbury Colours Awarded To Senior School Students
At today’s House Assemblies, we celebrated our Senior School students' achievements across Canterbury College’s four dimensions: Academics, Performing Arts, Service and Leadership, and Sports and Activities.
Students were awarded Red (20 points) and Silver (40 points) through the Canterbury Colours System, while Gold Colours (60 points) will be presented at the 2024 Senior School Speech Night on Monday 25 November.

Our Years 1–12 Canterbury Dance Ensembles wrapped up their big year with a celebration at the Performing Arts Amphitheatre and Dance Studio.
The event featured an awards ceremony, a group viewing of the Canterbury Dance Spectacular finale video, and some well-deserved ice blocks for everyone.
