What: Annual Canterbury College St John’s Cathedral City Service.

When: 10:30am – 11:45am, THIS Tuesday 30 January 2024.

This major event is being held much earlier this year to incorporate the inaugural Senior Ties and Year 7 House Badges Presentation Ceremonies as part of this important service.

Students & Staff College Departures: From 8:30am (approx.) By Bus.

•   Years 5-6 Junior School Students: To meet & depart from the Junior School bus bays via High Road.

•   Years 8-12 Senior School Students: To meet & depart from the Senior/Secondary School bus bays via Old Logan Village Road.

•   Year 7 Students: To meet & depart on an earlier bus leaving at 8:30am SHARP from the Senior/Secondary School bus bays via Old Logan Village Road.
Please ensure all Year 7 students are on campus in time for this earlier strict departure time.

Students & Staff College Returns: From 12:15pm (approx.) By Bus.

Students will then have Lesson 4, Lunch Break and Lesson 5.

Parents, Carers & Families: Please be seated by 10:15am and allow ample time for CBD parking beforehand – thank you!

Hosts: College Chaplain Father Dan Talbot & Canterbury Executive Leadership Team.

Dress Code: Students are required to wear their full formal Summer Uniform and formal hats – all presented to a high personal grooming standard.

Canterbury Policies around uniform, behaviour and mobile phones apply in full.

Staff, Parents, Carers & Families are expected to be dressed to a high standard for this formal ceremony.

To Bring: Students will have their Morning Tea break upon arrival, so all food needs to be in disposable packaging, as students will not be permitted to bring their school bags with them.

Students are allowed to bring a water bottle into the service.

Note: During the lead-up period, students will receive etiquette guidance around attending a cathedral service, as in some instances, this will be a unique and first-time experience.
