MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT | Our 2026 Year 12 Student Leadership Prefect Team
Mr Dan Walker
College Principal
It is a joy to announce the student leaders who will serve our College community in 2026.
At Canterbury, we understand leadership as service. Our Anglican tradition reminds us that real authority is shown through equal doses of courage, humility and care for others. These students have been chosen not only for their character and their holistic engagement in school life, but for the way they lift others, listen deeply and help our community flourish.

In the year ahead they will champion our Four Dimensions, inspiring learning, co-curricular engagement, character and service across the College. They will also model our commitment to being Different Together, where every student is known, valued and included, and where diverse gifts are woven into a strong and generous community.
This year, evidence from Colours, student voice, staff nominations, video applications, speeches, panel interviews, involvement and leadership at Thrive Day and camp, attendance records, Approach to Learning performance, and broader historical data have all been considered to shortlist and select our leadership group. The task of discerning the Prefect group, House Vice Captains and Activity Captains grows more difficult each year, as the depth of our applicant pool continues to expand.
We will commission our 2026 leaders at the Leadership Investiture Service on Thursday 9 October.
Please join me in congratulating this group of 2026 student leaders, and in celebrating the Year 11 cohort as a whole, for engaging so respectfully and authentically in the selection process.
