Year 8 Visual Art | Thunderegg Pots!

Our Year 8 Visual Art students have been busy making thunderegg pots in Term One.

The purpose of this unit is to build their ceramic modelling and sculptural skills.

It is designed to teach students about how to develop their concepts into an aesthetically pleasing three-dimensional form.

Students are being introduced to a variety of hand-building, joining and decorative techniques in this introductory unit.

They have already made pinchpots from clay and have underglazed and glossed the interiors and oxidised the exteriors.
