ITEM ONE: NEW HEAD HONCHOS!

BIG congratulations to…

Will Glass – Class Of 2017: Our NEW CAN Committee President.

Rohan Cornick – Class Of 2017: Our NEW CAN Committee Vice President.

They say ‘History Never Repeats’ but these two gents were also Canterbury’s 2017 College Captain and College Vice-Captain in the same order!

They join fellow same graduation year alumnus…

Kevin Tam – Class Of 2017: Our NEW(ish) CAN Committee Secretary.

Please support our new ‘Trio Bellissimo’ as they take our fast-growing past students ‘Alumni Army’ forward, with special thanks to outgoing retirees: Warick Fawkes (President), Jenna Bilston (Vice President) and Rikki Regeling (Secretary).

 

ITEM TWO: CALL OF DUTY!

Will, Rohan and Kevin – as their first official point of order – have asked for more past students to join the Canterbury Alumni Network Committee:

  • To attend Tuesday night CAN Meetings once per term in the Canterbury Board Room.
  • OR even via Zoom Meetings!
  • To help with the 5 & 10 Year / 20 Year / 30 Year reunion dates and locations, plus new event plans.
  • To bring fresh ideas and energy to the table (literally), with natural attrition meaning new members are required to replace those few who’ve sadly moved interstate for work or left for personal reasons etc.
  • It really is a fun sociable group with highly enjoyable Term meetings that feature genuine snack-fests!

ITEM THREE: REUNION PLANNING

The CAN Committee wishes to hold the 5 & 10 Year / 20 Year / 30 Year Reunions across July – August – September this year. Thank heavens COVID reunion planning havoc finally seems to be over – Amen!

So… we are seeking YOUR location suggestions, to allow us to start making some serious event bookings and placing some deposits.

Last Year: Norman Park Community Bowls Club – 5 & 10 Year Reunion | Bar Pacino (CBD Riverside) – 20 Year Reunion | Sirromet Winery – 30 Year Reunion.

New ideas please! Felons Brewing Co. (Howard Smith Wharves)? The Fox Hotel (South Brisbane)? Brisbane Powerhouse (New Farm)? Sirromet again?

When: 6:30pm Monday 25 July 2022.
Where: QPAC: Queensland Performing Arts Centre – Concert Hall.
South Bank, Brisbane CBD.

Guests: All past and present Canterbury students, families and staff over the last 35 years are invited!
Dress Code: Formal / Business Attire
Performers: Our extremely talented current student soloists and ensemble musicians, singers and choirs.

***PLUS: We are seeking Canterbury past students to perform at this event, to truly celebrate spanning 35 years of proud College history (1987 – 2022).***

We would LOVE to hear you sing or play your favourite musical instrument on stage alongside our talented current students with our great appreciation.
