2026 Oxford Academic Study Tour

A select group of Canterbury’s high achieving students from Years 10 to 12 has returned from an extraordinary Oxford Study Tour, bringing home new perspectives, lasting friendships and an even greater appreciation for the opportunities that exist beyond the classroom.

Before arriving in Oxford, students explored many of England’s most iconic landmarks, including Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, Bath, the White Cliffs of Dover and the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. A particularly meaningful experience was visiting the historic city of Canterbury, where students toured the magnificent Canterbury Cathedral and experienced the history that inspired our College’s name. Standing in the very place from which Canterbury College draws its identity, students learnt about Thomas Becket and Thomas Cranmer, whose legacies continue to live on through our Becket and Cranmer Houses.

At the heart of the tour was the residential study program at Pembroke College, Oxford, where students experienced university life firsthand. Living alongside students from around the world, they immersed themselves in small-group academic classes, independent study and residential college life, gaining valuable insight into one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious universities.

Throughout the tour, our students represented Canterbury with maturity, curiosity and confidence. They embraced new challenges, stepped outside their comfort zones and formed friendships with peers from across the globe, embodying the qualities of globally minded young people.

We look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to shape our students as they return to Canterbury with fresh ideas, greater confidence and memories to last a lifetime.
