2024 Senior School Co-Curricular Awards Night | All Award Winners, Event Wrap & Photos

On Wednesday night 10 October, we held our inaugural Senior School Co-Curricular Awards Night at the CEC, celebrating the combined achievements of our Sports, Performing Arts and Thought Sports students.

It was a wonderful evening, recognising the remarkable talents of so many of our Years 7-12s, and was hosted by Mr Arnie Marraiya – Acting Director of Sports and Activities, along with Dr Katrina Peddell – Director of Performing Arts.

Congratulations to all our Co-Curricular Award winners, and a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the many parents, carers and families for their unwavering support behind all those training sessions, rehearsals, club meetings, matches, tournaments, performances, concerts and eisteddfods.

It was great seeing so many families attending on the night despite the stormy weather outside.

We extend a special thanks to our two guest speakers: Olympians Camryn Newton-Smith and Lani Pallister, who shared their inspiring stories and offered valuable sporting advice to our students.

We were honoured to see Lani’s 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal up close, so thank you Lani for bringing it along!

Camryn Newton-Smith is an Australian multi-event athlete who became our National Champion and Oceania Champion in the heptathlon in 2024.

Lani Pallister is an Australian competitive swimmer and world record holder.

She holds a world record in the short course 4 x 200-metre freestyle relay and has set world records in lifesaving events for the 100-metre rescue medley and 200-metre super lifesaver.

At the 2022 World Aquatic Championships, she made history as the first Australian woman to medal in the 1500-metre freestyle, earning bronze.

The two full photo galleries are available on our Facebook Page now.
