2024 Annual Canterbury College St John’s Cathedral City Service | Event Wrap & Photo Gallery

On Tuesday morning our Years 5-12 students were all bussed into Brisbane’s CBD for our Annual Canterbury College St John’s Cathedral City Service.

It was a special time for school unity, personal reflection and gratitude, as we celebrated our shared values, while deepening our College’s connection to Brisbane’s ‘mother church’ for all Anglicans in our region.

This major event was held much earlier this year to incorporate our inaugural Senior Ties and Year 7 House Badges Presentation Ceremonies as part of this important service.

The Right Reverend John Roundhill joined our wonderful College Chaplain Father Dan Talbot to bless our Year 7 students’ House Badges and Year 12 students’ Senior Ties – marking a key milestone in their educational journey.

As part of this acknowledgment, our Year 7s and Year 12s also enjoyed a Cathedral Tour led by Father Dan, exploring its rich history and admiring its intricate stained-glass windows.

A big ‘Thank You’ to all who joined us for this memorable occasion – especially the 40 parents, carers and non-Canterbury siblings – our biggest family attendance for quite some time.

Next year we might pray for cooler and less humid summer conditions!
